During March of 2006 two fish kills were reported and officially investigated by State agencies, and one other was documented by a fisherman. There were also un-documented oral reports of one or more similar events over the ensuing weeks.

The official investigations are well-described by the article (Fish Kill Leads to Investigation) accompanying the photos.

The rather blurred images are the result of low ambient light, a rocking small boat on a very windy day, and a digital camera that refused to flash. Nevertheless, one may still observe (a) that the fish are indeed dead, and (b) that they've got ugly yellowish growth on fins and around mouths. This may be just part of decomposition, although the fish were otherwise intact and thus appeared to have been recently alive.
