Summer of 84, first launch of Discovery, returning Shuttle unsure of. I am sure that today it would be nearly imposable for the average Cape Canaveral worker to get this close & the Tour Buses drove right up to the Pad just days before the Launch! The people/vehicles are at the Emergency Vehicles parking area. This is as close as any people are allowed, 3 miles from Launch. Large round tank is Liquid Nitrogen. The Flames were so bright that it stopped-down the camera, making the Sky dark. Used a 35mm SLR, 210mm lens with a 2X & 3X multipler, = 1260mm, with a motor drive.
