1988 G&L L-2000

This is my #1. It has been since the early 90's. That's not just finish that has worn off just above the back pickup. I've played it so much that it now is pretty deep groove into the wood too. According to the serial number, the manufacture date is 1988. I bought it in 1990 at a guitar show for around $700. They now list for around $1500. It's unusual in the fact that it as a #6 neck. That's the type of neck that goes on the ASAT basses. It has a spec of 1 1/4" at the nut as opposed the the 1 1/2" on a regular L-2000 or a Jazz Bass. I don't know if it was a custom order, a mistake, or they just made'em that way back then. I need to do some research on that. It has active electronics that are great for slapping and also gives a lot of flexibility where sounds are concerned. Basses designed by Leo Fender have always been my favorites.
