Another month of firsts for little Kathryn. She took her first long road trip, rolled over for the first time, and started to hold things and mouth on them. She began smiling at her toys -- especially her pet dragon.
Her big vacation was a week in Monterey, where she took lots of walks in Big Sur, Elkhorn Slough, and the beach. She went to the aquarium and goggled at the eerie jellyfish exhibts. Whenever she was fussy, we took her out to the deck behind the house, in the Del Monte forest, and the trees and forest sounds always quieted her down. 
Kathryn also started to develop her own personality. She is happy, alert, and likes it when people sing and bounce her arms and legs around in rhythm. 
And, thankfully, she sleeps well in restaurants.
