find it on the web:

Welcome to my internet search page. Searching the web for information is one of the most valuable functions served by the internet. The sites listed below will allow you to search for almost anything you can think of. The shopping related sites listed under the separate heading will also provide you with good resources for online purchases. Have fun.

If you are new to searching on the world wide web, here is a brief hint that might make things easier. In general you are looking for an edit field in to which you may write your search word or phrase. Your screen access software will likely let you know when this edit field is present while reading the web page. It will likely say something such as "edit." Get to that point and enter your phrase or word. If you need to do something such as turning forms mode on in jfw, or the equivalent in window-eyes, do this prior to writing your word in the edit box.

After you write the word in, tab or use your arrow keys to locate a button likely labeled "search" or "submit." Hit enter on that one and you should be taken to the search results for your question. Good luck and if you have any questions let me know and i will do my best to help.

Online shopping sites:

Below are several online shopping sites which should be screen reader and other access technology friendly. Remember that shopping on the internet though very fun and handy should be done with merchants you know. Be sure the site has security in place before placing your credit card number out there. The sites listed below have been reviewed by Access Word, a publication of The American Foundation For The Blind. You can read this online magazine at
