Welcome to my little market place on the World Wide web Thanks for taking the time to investigate services I provide.
I urge anyone looking for services in the adaptive equipment and training field to look around and discuss your needs and concerns with several people before you put your money on the line.
my goal is to help each client get the most out of their investment of time and money for this new technology. It can be a boost to employment options for those who are blind or vision impaired but like any other investment, you get out what you put in.
Located in Albany NY, I have been an adaptive technology trainer for more than 10 years and a computer user for about 20. Yes, I go back to the early days of dos and even before that to an old apple.
I can provide services on an hourly rate, or a contract basis for a specific job.
If you would like to find out more about my experience, please e-mail me for a resume or with any questions.

Today's visually impaired job seeker is expected to bring the same toolbox to the work place as their coworkers. These include familiarity with the windows operating system and how to navigate a network environment. perspective employees are also expected to have knowledge and skill using a variety of programs such as Microsoft Word, outlook and excel. I can provide training in the use of these programs incorporating the access technology which enables the computer's output to be spoken or enlarged to meet the individual's needs.
There are several major vendors in the field of access technology and I am familiar with each. They include:
Freedom Scientific products include Jaws For Windows and Open book scanning software. The former is a screen access product making the windows environment speak. The latter is scanning and recognition technology enabling printed material to be scanned by the user and converted to spoken output. For more information see the link below.
Serotek Corporation is the manufacturer of System access and the system access mobile network. System access provides access to the windows operating system through spoken output. The system access mobile network provides an online community with services such as access to radio and other audio, e-mail and internet chat. If you are looking for perhaps a less expensive solution to your personal access technology needs this might be it. For more information follow the link below.
Gwmicro provides both screen reading and note takeing products. Their premier product in the former catigory is Window-Eyes. As with the others mentioned above, Window-Eyes is a screen access product converting the material presented by the windows environment to speech output. You can get more information from the link below.
Over the past several years, a variety of products have come on the market to meet the demand for portable devices used to take classroom or work notes. these are devices which are pda (personal data assistants) in the blindness product field. They can do wonders for a busy student or employee who needs to perform their job while traveling. I am familiar with the products listed below and can provide recommendation and training.
In addition to the notetakers discussed below, with the explosion in smart phone technology comes the ability to use a smart phone with its built-in word processing software to take notes and get email on the go. See the link below for information concerning screen reading technology for smart phones.
If you, or your employer are interested in adaptive technology and are wondering what products will meet your needs, please contact me and I will be glad to help you make decisions. My goal is that you should have the technology you need not more than you can afford or use.
Sometimes these computers just don’t behave correctly. Want to behavior modify your software to meet your needs? Need one of your programs to behave just a little bit differently? Let’s talk about it and we can decide if you can benefit from some customization of Jaws For Windows using scripting.
