I may have been too kind in giving this such a high star amount, but time will tell. Hey, I’m allowed to change my mind once in awhile, right? But either way you cut it, this is still a worthwhile film to see. The acting is wonderful and the jokes are very amusing. The political biases do get annoying, but they weren’t too bad. I’ve seen worse. In fact, the only drawback to Barry Levinson’s film is the ending, which I’m afraid is a real let down. For a movie whose whole premise is to be witty and over the top, this ending is pretty lame. How is it these films can be so good for 3 quarters and then blow it so badly in the 4th? How? It doesn’t seem possible, but it happens and all too often for my tastes. I still recommend WAG THE DOG, but forget about any kind of a good conclusion.
