To quote Mystery Science Theater: “BORING! BORING! REALLY, REALLY BORING!” No offense, but if this movie actually scares you than you must find Big Bird pretty intimidating. The only amazing thing about it is how someone can say that it’s good and still keep a straight face. URBAN LEGEND is a perfect example of how a movie should NOT be made. The story is pathetic, the acting atrocious and more tragic really than the death scenes. Alicia Witt’s performance is so bad…it’s scary. Yuck, yuck! They even took one of my favorite stories (the killer in the backseat) and fucked it up royally, not to mention making it completely implausible. Ughhhhh! As for the killer, what a joke, it was Trumpy without the snout (MST3K fans will get it). Of course, URBAN LEGEND should be addressed by its real title…SCREAM 4. (SCREAM 3 was I KNOW WHAT SUCKED LAST SUMMER.)
And even though his name wasn’t on it, I could smell Kevin Williamson’s foul stench the second I entered the theater. How plain can I make this? Williamson, YOU SUCK! You are not talented and I am livid that you have created this trend in horror. A trend which most seem to think is original and isn’t in the slightest. All he’s done is taken horror’s already downward spiral and sunken it to an all time low. URBAN LEGEND is one of the worst examples yet. My friend was right. All of these stupid movies are nothing but derivatives of the derivatives. More plainly, crap imitating crap.
