To be honest, I really didn’t expect much from this movie, so I was pleasantly surprised. THE EDGE is a highly charged and enjoyable adventure piece. The bear scenes alone are incredible, not to mention intense. And the scenery and cinematography are breathtaking to view and just spectacular. This is a welcome relief after being plagued with overly done CG films of late. (Sometimes you just can’t beat the real thing.) As for Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin, they both turn in top-notch performances here. You know something, I had forgotten what a great actor Hopkins really is. He’s still one of the best by far.
