SIX DAYS SEVEN NIGHTS

Star Star

Without originality or surprise, SIX DAYS SEVEN NIGHTS plays out like several other romantic movies we’ve all seen before. In fact, it really tries to be ROMANCING THE STONE and just fails miserably. I’m sure they were hoping too that the charm of both Harrison Ford and Anne Heche would hold it all together, but they couldn’t. Personally, I don’t think anyone could have with such a flimsy script. How they get off the island is really funny though. The part where they are fixing the plane looks just like a scene from THE A-TEAM. :-)

Heche is a good actress, but whether she intended it or not, she’s nothing but a Meg Ryan clone here. Her hair, dress style and mannerisms are all just like Ryan’s. Actually, I do hope that Miss Heche is made aware of this, or else she’ll be in for a lifetime of typecasting. As for David Schwimmer, he’s decent for the first half, especially since he wasn’t playing his character from FRIENDS. But without fail, Schwimmer soon turns into Ross and whines for the rest of the film.

Clearly, the makers of SIX DAYS are hoping that romantic movie audiences will just eat this up, only because it’s that type of a movie. However, I think it’s a veil that most will see through and not be fooled by.
