| PATCH ADAMS |

Pulling at your heartstrings is usually a good thing, but when a film decides to take a machete to them, you then have a problem. PATCH ADAMS is enjoyable, but without merit or necessity throws a real downer of a twist into the mix. And when I say “downer,” I mean it. Not only that, the main character (played by Robin Williams) practically recovers from the tragedy within five minutes and the film then formulaically plays itself out. While I love happy endings as much as the next person, this one doesn’t leave you convinced. I did enjoy it, but as I said, it doesn’t quite sell you on everything.
