On Christmas Day, I took part in an annual tradition. After the family stuff, meet up with the pals, get some Chinese food and catch a late night flick. Why the background? Because understanding our mindset before seeing this, whatever it may be, is probably key. With NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE, we knew it would be short, we knew it would likely suck, but so what. Let’s go in and have a few cheap laughs. Personally, I laughed the hardest at the LUCAS parody (when Marty gets thrown the ball), a reference that most people probably wouldn’t remember or get. But for every joke that’s funny, there’s 20 that aren’t. And yes, it’s possible to be too crude. Talking about taking a dump on someone or tonguing an old chick is just not funny, no matter how much they dress it up.

      TEEN MOVIE gets points for achieving its goal, in that we were entertained. But it wasn’t a good movie, by any stretch.
