NOISES OFF…

GENRE: Comedy
YEAR: 1992
RATED: PG-13

Ever wondered what an actor and director’s worst nightmare is? It’s what happens in this film. In it, we are introduced to the oddball cast of NOTHING ON and their director, Lloyd Fellowes. This traveling theater group only has their act together slightly. In fact, they’re just barely hanging on by a thread. Like a house of cards, they all come crashing down whenever anything goes out of joint. And when does this all happen, during their performances of course. In fact, every time they try to pick up the pieces, they only wind up making things worse.

Based on the popular stage play of the same name, this film is just as good. Granted, it’s far more intense when you’re watching it on stage, but the movie still has its share of laughs. In fact, some parts will have you rolling. The cast is excellent, but Michael Caine has to be my favorite as Lloyd, the director.
