MOTHER

Star Star Star Star½

Albert Brooks is an underrated talent, both on and off the screen. He has a singular wit to him that I find similar to Woody Allen, only better. And his direction and writing of MOTHER can only be described as superb. Everyone can get a laugh from this, honestly, especially if you have a mother like he does in the film. In fact, Debbie Reynolds should have gotten a Best Supporting Oscar nomination, but…she didn’t. Sigh! Hey, this movie is worth it just for its classic parody of the song, “Mrs. Robinson.” When you see it, you’ll understand. So go out and rent this one, it’s great!
