Once a savior from summer movie mediocrity, MIB has now become a part of it. Yeah, I had hopes that II could be the exception, like it was 5 years ago. But as with most sequels, it takes only minutes to know that you’re screwed. The zany appeal is gone and the pacing is duller than shit. Sequels can be bad, but it’s far worse when you don’t even want to acknowledge a film’s existence. And people will forget this, no question. Its steady decline in the box office from week to week is only added proof.
