BATMAN: Mask of the Phantasm

GENRE: Animated / Adventure
YEAR: 1993
RATED: PG

A new villain in Gotham City is killing local crime bosses and the Batman is blamed. At the same time, a love from Bruce Wayne’s past has returned, reminding him of the days just before he became the Caped Crusader and how he almost gave it up for her. How is it all connected?

What Tim Burton started, the animated series is continuing. Originally intended as a TV movie, Warner Bros. liked this so much that they released it to theaters. Hey, what a great idea! I saw this on Christmas day and have been a fan ever since. It’s just too bad the live-action versions that followed couldn’t have the same quality. Most people probably never pay attention to voices in animation either, but they should. MASK OF THE PHANTASM has an incredible cast and Mark Hamill is just fabulous as the Joker.
