HOW TO LOSE A GUY IN 10 DAYS

Star Star Star

Due to my current dating status, I’m attending more chick flicks than usual. Hey, I don’t mind them (if they’re good), but I usually don’t see this many. Thankfully, HOW TO LOSE A GUY is cuter than most. Kate Hudson is adorable and is in many ways better than her mother. But it’s clear that they are trying to market her into Goldie. Her hairstyle, facial expressions are exact duplicates. Unfortunately, the plot wants to have it both ways though. Having her switch from modern sophisticated woman into ditz, like her mom would play, just doesn’t jive.

In any romantic comedy, you come to expect certain things. The one similarity, at least nowadays, is in the last 20 minutes, where the couple breaks up and reunites tearfully 10 minutes later. The trick is in making this believable, which is not easy. Whether this was successful here is my only hang-up. Though it’s not as strong as I’d wanted, as a whole, the movie has more good than bad. I’ll recommend it!
