Many horror movies are doomed from the start, mostly because they were never intended to be good in the first place, so it’s a futile cause really. But this one had potential, I think. DEEP RISING is one of those movies I’d like to do over and make better if I was a filmmaker. I’m a sucker for these kinds of plots. I find them interesting, but usually am let down by the final product. This movie isn’t great either, but I did like a few parts. So if you have nothing better to do one night, DEEP RISING offers a decent distraction. I’d still wait for video or cable though before seeing it.
