Boring first half, good middle, and a so-so ending is DARK CITY in a nutshell. The title doesn’t lie though; it certainly was dark. But the film just isn’t consistent, even though interesting in parts. And the ending only leaves you wishing that they had done more. By the way, whoever designed the costumes for this movie has seen HELLRAISER one too many times. The villains of the film, when in their lair, are carbon copies of Pinhead, minus the pins. And we’re not talking slightly similar; they were exactly the same. Let’s hear it for originality!
