Besides a few small holes, COP LAND is an excellent film. The cast is absolutely phenomenal and one of the best assembled in a long time. We all know this movie has Stallone, De Niro, Keitel and Liotta, but it also has one incredible powerhouse-supporting cast that cannot go unmentioned. This includes Michael Rapaport, Robert Patrick, Annabella Sciorra, Peter Berg, Janeane Garofalo and Cathy Moriarty. But the one who deserves the most praise is Sylvester Stallone. This is definitely his best performance since ROCKY. Granted, you still won’t think he’s Olivier but he does a good job nonetheless. I applaud Stallone for breaking with his traditional action role guise and taking on this part.
