Well, BOUNCE sufficiently sucked me in. In fact, I didn’t even write anything in my little notebook for almost an hour. (Yeah, I’ve had to take notes lately.) A guy named Buddy Amaral (Ben Affleck) gives up his plane ticket to another guy and the plane crashes, killing all aboard. Whew! So clearly the premise is a sad one, to be sure. But the movie draws you in and does a good job of keeping you there. The inevitability of certain events though does feel strained and drawn out longer than it should be. And when everything culminates in a court trial, there is a distinct loss in validity, not to mention steam. But through it all, BOUNCE is still enjoyable, if not perfect, and is a nice couples film certainly.
