When bad directors get a hold of bad scripts, they make bad movies, right? Obviously! Well, apparently not to some studio executives it seems. In all honesty, BLESS THE CHILD must have sounded good as an idea, but then clearly went down hill from there. Kim Basinger is thoroughly annoying throughout, uttering every line as if she’s constipated. In fact, she’s so over the top and melodramatic, you almost wanna puke. I guess the OSCAR has gone to her head or something.

      On some small level, BLESS THE CHILD does succeed in a few scattered instances in reminding us of the wonderment and awe of miracles. But the whole of the film is so bad that these worthwhile moments are just lost in the shuffle.
