Originally, the cheese factor weighed in a little too thick for me. But even then I conceded that BLAST FROM THE PAST had more going for it than you would think. Well, after a few more viewings, I’ve decided to amend my thoughts here. This is a cute movie that does grow on you, and therefore deserves a respectable rating. Brendan Fraser never once falters (despite some really cheesy parts), which just shows what a good actor he really is. Dave Foley, Christopher Walken and Sissy Spacek are great in supporting roles. I recommend taking a look, but only if there’s nothing else to do.
