| ANGEL EYES |
½Love her or hate her, Jennifer Lopez is still smart enough to pick a good leading man. Thanks to her encouragement, the studios went with James Caviezel and he’s really the best part. But his great performance may go unnoticed since the film wasn’t that strong. ANGEL EYES is thankfully non conventional and has a distinctly dark backdrop. The previews may have suggested a supernatural angle, but there isn’t one. It’s just a simple love story set against a really tragic background. What flaws there were related mainly to the dialogue, which is atrocious at times and in desperate need of revision. ANGEL EYES is still not a bad movie though and will undoubtedly find its audience. But at first glance, it was too rough around the edges.
