| THE DEVIL’S ADVOCATE |
½
Al Pacino is in top form as usual in this better than average flick. And in a real rarity, Keanu Reeves is actually not bad either. Of course, he’s still not a great actor by any stretch of the imagination, but he was better than usual. I especially liked Charlize Theron, who plays Reeves’ young wife in the film. She certainly has talent and should be around for quite a while. Well, let’s hope so. Hollywood has an annoyingly bad habit of keeping all the bad actors around while shutting out most of the good ones.
Despite the fact that I only gave this 2½ stars, THE DEVIL’S ADVOCATE is still a good movie to see. I came close to giving it 3 but there were a few downsides to the film that I didn’t care for that kept me from giving it more.
