Pearl K. Wise Library
The CRLS Pearl K. Wise Library has agreed with and supported the Environmental Action Club in its endeavor to reduce paper
usage at CRLS. They are cutting back their paper usage by 1/2!!! And how? Simply by clicking a button on the computers
and having them print double-sided! Thanks to the Pearl K. Wise staff and the Environmental Action Club, the library now
uses half as much paper as it used to.

Charles River Clean Up
This clean-up was a great success. The club teamed up with the Charles River Conservancy on December 2nd to clean the
shoreline under the Longfellow Bridge on the Cambridge side of the Charles River, and it was a major success. The EAC cleaned
up bags and bags of garbage, recycleable materials, and biodegradable waste. They also pruned trees, cut back shurbs, and
otherwise beautified the area. In a matter of hours, the shoreline was transformed from a garbage dump to a clean, enjoyable
space.
Thank you to everyone who participated, and to the Charles River Conservancy!

Bagel Bench-1/31/06
Thank you to everyone who participated in and purchased goods at our first EAC bakesale (January 31st, 2006-Lunch A and B
at the Bagel Bench). We raised enough money to save a few acres of jungle in the Calakmul jungle. Thanks again!
A102-4/13/06
Thank you to Catherine Woodbury and Jen Wright for coming and talking to CRLS students after school about volunteer activities
in Cambridge. The meeting and discussions were informative and certainly changed the way the EAC thinks about Cambridge's
attitude towards the environment. The EAC plans on working closely with the City of Cambridge in future volunteer activities
and encourages others to join us.
Bagel Bench-5/16/06
Thank you to everyone who participated in and purchased goods at our second EAC bakesale (May 16thst, 2006-Lunch A and B at
the Bagel Bench). We raised over $100 and plan on using it to buy tools for our local-area clean-ups.
