History of Our Club
The EAC was founded in the fall of 2005 by two CRLS juniors. They hoped to implant a club in CRLS that would last after they
were gone, and would encourage students to get involved in environmental activities.
Other plans were for the club members to come up with their own methods for reducing pollution and helping the environment,
and then implementing them. One of the first ideas was to redesign the recycling program at CRLS. That program was started
in the arts building, and is currently waiting to expand to the entire school.

Recycling Program
The EAC's recycling program is considered the most adventurous task if the year by its members. CRLS, with approximately
1800 students, produces a lot of paper waste. To recycle all that waste requires an incredible team of volunteers willing
to spend time and energy on the mission. The greatest hurdle for the project is not getting students and teachers to recycle,
but getting recycling bins to the classrooms, and gathering volunteers who are willing to spend time after school picking
up the recycling bins. The process is long and hard, but the club looks forward to its successful completion by the end of
the second semester.
