This collection of fishing line and the various assortment of lures hooks and weights were left behind by fisherman in about 60 feet of shoreline at a popular lake in one weekend! These careless acts posed a threat to animals and humans who walk along that lake.

It's unsightly, it's hazardous, it's illegal, it's punishable by large fines and it's wrong but it still happens. Besides the common forms of litter, such as beverage containers and food packaging, areas that anglers frequent also have Styrofoam bait containers, fishing line (very hazardous to wildlife, pets and people that become entangled in it) and cigarette butts (unsightly and if they get in the water fish may swallow them.) Please protect and respect the environment. Don't give fishing and fisherman a bad name.
