Death's Angel

There are those beings in the universe who exist not for a fleeting moment in Time's eye, but as a part of the very fabric of existence. They transcend the definition time, mortality and understanding. Yet they exist nonetheless. Death is one of those beings. In the dark recesses of our minds we all know this to be true.

I am the Observer. Relating the history of Death's Angel is a pointless task for it has no beginning nor shall it ever end. Instead, I will strive to instruct you on some of the workings of the universe in the hope that you shall understand the roll of Death's Angel within it.

As an agent of Death, Death's Angel can never truly die nor be born. Lest you dismiss Death's Angel as something beyond control or influence and something simply as 'a part of life' you must understand something about the balance of the universe, for there is great peril in ignorance.

Energy is a remarkable power. It can never be destroyed nor truly created. It always balances throughout the universe, changing from one form into another. Life and Death are like energy. The more Life there is, the more Death there must be. The more Death there is, the more Life tenaciously emerges. Do not mistake this then, as justification for ridding the world of inhabitants that do not meet with your image of the way things should be. For you see, Life and Death have no influence upon Happiness or Suffering; they simply exist to balance one another. You would be mistaken to believe that by killing your enemy, you have made your own life or the lives around you better. Life does not work that way. I shall explain further.

Death is often described as being indiscriminant and so it is true. What does Death care of cruel dictators or innocent children? Of Nobel Piece Prize winners or annoying gnats? Death welcomes all.

But what of Life? What difference does it make to Life if there are beings upon the planet Earth rather than elsewhere? If only cockroaches survive Man's own ruin? What difference is there to Life if a maniacal dictator rules the world? For Life there is no difference. The truth then, is that both Life and Death are indiscriminant, for they both have the entire universe to work with and do so very effectively.

The next time you take a life, whether it be an enemy's or perhaps a gnat's, you may have just given birth to the next ruler or species that will ultimately cause your demise or the demise of your entire race. The mistake that Man has made for generations is confusing Life and Death with Happiness and Suffering. The true issue in battling Death is that you are also battling Life. It is therefore a battle that you should not be concerned with for it is never a question of defeating Death. You cannot. It is always about the Happiness within one's Life.

The only way to battle Death is to value Life in all the forms it takes. In doing so, there will come a time when Happiness defeats Suffering - where the true battle must occur. When Happiness reins, Death, like energy, becomes just another state of existence.

So it is revealed.
