PHOTO RESTORATION

When I was six years old, my mother took me and my sister to Wyoming to see her brother.  During a trip to the mountains, she took a picture and when it was developed, it look really great.  Through the years (68 to be exact) awful things happened to the picture as you can see below.  So the other day I decided to scan the picture and see what I could do using Photoshop.  Applying levels, curves and using the clone tool I was able to come up with the picture below the damaged one.  I thought it looked pretty good.  Any thoughts on improving on my work would be greatly appreciated.
