Recently, I got fed up with recharging my Costco/Sprint Pre-paid Calling Card and paying a long distance bill for calls to broadband buddies over and over again.  There had to be a better (and free) way to make these calls.  I did an internet search for Voice Over IP phones and came up with two valuable resources:

1.  eBay search for Cisco 7960 Voice Over IP Phones

2.  Free World Dialup

First, go buy one of these Cisco 7960's and get a free account to Free World Dialup.  You'll be glad you did.  Free World will issue you an internet-only phone number to receive calls and to call other internet phones.  All of your broadband friends should get one of these babies.  FREE unlimited calling between internet phones!  They take a little bit of tinkering to get configured, but they're great!  Excellent sound quality!
