 | There seems to be no difference between the sb- and
nr- files. If you find a difference, let me know. |
 |
They are encoded by Chárter and include MD5
authentication that makes them useless on the system if edited. |
 |
These MD5 files will not work on other MD5-enabled
cable systems. |
 |
If an MD5 configuration file is edited for enhanced
speed, for instance, the modem loads the file from the TFTP server,
tries to verify the MD5 authentication key, fails, and causes the modem to
retrieve the file again but on a different port number (endless loop). |
 | If the modem continually tries to download the same file over
and over from the TFTP server, you probably have an MD5 authentication
conflict and you'll need to get a configuration file with MD5
authentication for your
area and system. |
 | UPDATE: You can now bypass MD5 authentication
by removing the authentication bytes from the configuration file. Read about it at: http://www.kjindnet.com/configs/md5.asp

Here. |
