Exact Copies of Computer Hard Disk Drives and Other Computer Media

Key Computer Service can make an exact (bitstream) copy of your computer media.

An exact copy contains a byte for byte copy of the media from the first byte on the HDD or other media to the last byte on the media. All files, whether normal, deleted, password protected, hidden or corrupted are copied. All data in file slack and all data in unallocated space is also copied.

This process can be done with DOS, Windows 3.X, Windows 95, Windows 98, MAC, Novell and UNIX operating systems.

An exact copy of the computer media can be very useful in investigations where large databases, spreadsheets or business software are present.
Frequently data of this nature cannot simply be printed out. A detailed examination of the interconnected records must be conducted by an accountant, auditor or similar professional. He or she will probably not be a computer forensic expert. The exact copy contains all of the data on the original media and can be accessed by the accountant, as if it were the original.

Since the data on the original media is never accessed, altered or corrupted in any manner, it is available for corroboration of what was found by the accountant, auditor, etc.

Additionally, Key Computer Service can convert specific records or applications to any data format required. This data can then be placed on CD ROM read-only media for examination.
