Associated Press: Your up-to-the-minute news source.
Reuters: Also up-to-the-minute, but with a focus on financial coverage.
Fox News Online: They have the cleverest headlines.
CNN: Bland but dependable.
The Washington Post: My hometown newspaper; great political coverage.
The New York Times: Best for international and arts coverage.
Drudge Report: His scoops shook a presidency.
MSNBC: Pretty but limited.
Roll Call: The inside eye on Congress and the White House.
The Hill: Another inside-the-beltway-only paper.

Slate: Generally balanced, interesting stuff; Kinsley and Kaus always reward.
OpinionJournal: Editorial page of WSJ; “Best of the Web” a treat.
National Review: Buckley’s protege magazine; cutting-edge conservatism.
The Nation: The Left’s David Duke; it lost its heft after Hitchens left.
Salon: Less intellectual than The Nation, and going downhill.
MotherJones: The crunchy Left.

Lexis: Same as Westlaw, but you can also get news articles of yore.
AP Supreme Court PDFs: Get the opinions right as the Court releases them.
U.S. Supreme Court: The granddaddy of all U.S. courts.
FindLaw Supreme Court Decisions: Go read Marbury v. Madison.
Oyez, Oyez, Oyez: Useful SCOTUS stuff, like audio of oral arguments.
Code of Federal Regulations: A little light reading.
National Center for State Courts: Find info on your local court.
U.S. Constitution: The most important document in America.  Re-read it!
Declaration of Independence: A timeless philosophy that launched a nation.
Federalist Papers: The Founders’ argument for the Constitution.
How Appealing: A blog tracking developments in the appellate courts.
