The Constitutionalist Party advocates the maintenance of the sovereignty of America and the reduction of America's present worldwide role of "policeman." The CP opposes added American commitment to foreign interests and supports the reduction of America's military involvement in other nations over time without breaking current agreements in place. The CP also rejects the past times the United States has used force to promote democracy in other countries, as that is a choice those sovereign nations should make for themselves. It is not America's job to convert the world to democracy by the sword, but rather by deed and example.
