BEYOND THE WATCHTOWER is the story of the spiritual journey of two people, the authors: Joseph Malik and his wife, Elizabeth Taze Malik. Their journey begins inside the Jehovah's Witnesses or Watchtower Society. As the years go by, they see more and more evidence of the society's errors-errors in organization and of Scriptural interpretation that allow the elders to usurp the authority of Jesus Christ.

The book is filled with a highly detailed account of the Maliks' many years inside the Jehovah's Witnesses. They provide the reader with copies of their many letters to Watchtower officials and transcripts of their conversations with fellow Jehovah's Witnesses. However, much of the book is a very detailed reading of the New Testament, explaining exactly how the Jehovah's witnesses distort the Bible to support their doctrines.

No reader can fail, by the end of the book, to appreciate how the Maliks' sincerity, conviction, and courage have taken them BEYOND THE WATCHTOWER. The documents Beyond Trinitarianism, Beyond Watchtower Doctrine and subsequent papers were added to detail information not thouroughly covered in it.
