Kawasaki EX500 (Ninja)

The Purple Nurple has passed away at the tender age of 15 :(

PURPLE NURPLE!........A dark purple, fully faired, 1988 Kawasaki EX500. I had a couple of electrical problems, but they were fixed eventually and it was very reliable evermore.

This was my Nurple

The other side did not look this good

The total package:

  • Targa Lower
  • Lockhart Phillips Fender eliminator kit (Trick Kit)
  • Chevy Geo Metro Purple paint
  • Tapered roller steering head bearings
  • Metzeler ME33Laser/ME99Perfect Rear
  • Lockhart Phillips purple windscreen
  • Cobra F1 exhaust
  • Goodridge steel braided brake line

I've received alot of email regarding the PURPLE NURPLE. Before you ask where I got the fender eliminator, lower fairing or other accessories, the answer is LOCKHART PHILLIPS.

Ok, then after owning & riding the PURPLE NURPLE for 7500mi, I sold it to a good friend who kept it in tip-top shape for five years. Then he sold it to "THE STONED KID FROM HELL". My buddy did express some reservations in selling it to the kid, but he needed the dough as he was moving to Washington.

Stoned kid: "Yo maan. That bike is so dope! Maan this shit is tight!"

To make a long story short, Stoned Kid proceeds to rev the engine high and dumps the clutch, narrowly missing a minivan. Somehow, the kid survived a ride around the block, but when he reached my buddy's house, he forgot to stop and hit the car in the driveway - hard!

I named my website after this bike :(

    What a shame
