POST 39 Lost another long-time Standing Member with over
50 Years as a Legionnaire. It was FOREST Robert "BOB"
WOOD...He passed away February 14,2008. Memorial Service
was held at 2:00PM Monday Feb. 18,2008 at the NELSON
Funeral Home,3785 Strawberry Plains Road,Williamsburg,Va.
James Gilley,Adjutant lead the Memorial with his own message and American Legion followed by the family friends. A very
nice turn out
by Post 39,Bob ROCHE,Pete WOMACK,Walt BOSHONEK,Jim SNYDER,James GILLEY,and Doug JOHNSON.
We THANK all American Legion Post 39 members that attended.

WHO'S RACIST
"There are African Americans,Mexican Americans,Asian Americans,
Native Americans,etc.,and then there are just Americans. You say that
Whites commit a lot of violence against you,so why are the Ghettos the
most dangerous places to live?
You have the United Negro College Fund,Hispanic History Monnth,Martin Luther King Jr Day,Asian History Month,Black
History Month,Cesar Chavez Day,Ma"uled AlNabi,Yom Hashoah,
Kwanzaa,the NAACP and BET. If had White Pride Day or White
History Month,we would be call Racists. If we had any organization
for only Whites to advance our lives,we'd be Racists. There's a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce,a Black Chamber of Commerce,
then there's the plain Chamber of Commerce. If we had a college
fund that only gave white students scholarships,we'd be considered
Racists. There are 60-plus predominantly black colleges in the United
States.
Yes if there were white-only colleges,that would be considered Racist.
You are proud to be Black,Brown,Yellow, or Red,and aren't afraid to
announce it. Why is it that only Whites can be Racists?"

The 2008 Post 39 CALENDAR went(sold out)January 28,2008),but we can print a mid-year 0ne-(Jul 1-2008 til June
30 2009) at half the price of last year...members liked it, believe me..21 members were featured in the Calendar
for 2008.Only 10 was be sold...I might have to order more if needed!! We are thinking about printing a Mid-Year
Calendar Jul 1,08 thru June 30,09....Deal or No Deal??
