Who are the Minnesota Women of Today?

Our Purpose

Anoka Women of Today believes very strongly in Service to others.  Activities are conducted to support and educate the chapter members along with members of the community in a variety of areas.  Some of our projects include:
  a.. Adopt a Highway
  b.. Relay For Life
  c.. Outstanding Young Adult Scholarships
  d.. Egg Hunt/Bunny Brunch
  e.. Anoka's Spooktacular
  f.. Anoka Sidewalk Sale Concessions 
  g.. Christmas Committee
  h.. SafeKids Car Seat Clinic
   i.. Assisting our Senior Citizens in our community

Some foundations we support are:
  a.. Can Do Canines (formerly Hearing/Service Dogs of MN)
  b.. Local Food Shelves
  c.. Women's/Children's shelters
  d.. Friendship Ventures/People with Developmental Challenges

Developing one's self confidence and learning how to work more effectively with others is a priority in the Women of Today organization.  Opportunities for leadership training exist at all levels of the organization (local, state, and national) through committee work, chairing projects, and holding officer positions.
Members improve their speaking and writing skills, and can participate in courses to develop other skills.  We "build a better you" through the following:

  c.. Leadership and Team Building
  d.. Effective Writing
  e.. Financial Management
  f.. Time Management
  g.. and others

Membership in the Anoka Women of Today offers the opportunity to develop close friendships with women who share similar interests.  Socials and other fun filled events are held regularly to encourage members to get to know one another.

  e.. Plays

The development of these long-lasting friendships is one of the benefits of being a member of Women of Today.  Some of our members have been active for over 15 years.  And we have made friends all across Minnesota and the U.S.

MN Women of Today Mission Statement

The mission of the MN Women of Today is to help women improve their own lives and the lives of the people in the communities around them.  The organization shall be a place in which young women are actively encouraged to become involved and hold positions of leadership.

The organization shall provide opportunities for members:

A.  To contribute to their communities by raising funds for worthy causes and by providing services or education to benefit community members.

B.  To develop and to foster skills and talents related to becoming successful individuals, interacting well with other people and becoming capable leaders.

C.  To develop friendships and to find personal support within the organization.
