Angel at 17 months with her first woodcock

which she pointed and retreived to hand, October 1998.

Angel with gun and first woodcockI am in the process of doing research for a book I plan to write on the Small Munsterlander Pointer. I would be interested in receiving information from people that have experience with the breed, especially breeders in the U.S. (and world-wide), NAVHDA judges, or just hunters that own outstanding dogs and will offer good publication quality photographs. I am accumulating a list of people that I would like to visit with about the breed and their involvement in breeding Small Munsterlanders. Please contact me if you would like to visit by phone, and I will give you a call.

The following will provide a general outline of the topics I intend to cover in the book:

Small Munsterlander Breed Standards and Characteristics in the Home and Field;

The Small Munsterlander Club of North America, Inc. its role and importance;

{short description of image}Discussion of the Versatile Hunting Dog and the various breeds(yes, I would like to get some good photos of other versatile breeds; preferably of these pointing dogs in action and of those that have titles or NAVHDA prizes);

Early History of the Development of the Versatile Breeds;

Testing of the Versatile Hunting Dog - The Role of NAVHDA and other testing organizations;

History of the Development of the Small Munsterlander Pointer in Germany;

The Small Munsterlander Pointer in other countries;

Development of the Breed in North America (I would like to devote a large part of the book to tracing the work of those that were primarily responsible for establishing the Small Munsterlander Pointer in North America, and for its continued growth and maintenance of this fine dog - you know who you are. I would like to hear from you).

Registry of the Breed (NAVHDA, Small Munsterlander Club of North America and others?).

There you have it. Can you help me out? E-mail me if you have information or know of someone I should contact. Thanks and Good Hunting, Jeff
