-- Angel on a planted quail --
The "A" Litter of Angelina von Turner and Amos von Sengpiel produced ten beautiful puppies. Angel was a very good mother by caring for six females and four males. The puppies were whelped February 20, 2000. Pedigrees are shown below and a limited
.
picture pedigree is shown on a separate page. This was Angel's first litter. She was three when the litter was whelped.
Angel is shown on our Small Munsterlander Pointer page and on her own page. While we have not been able to Utility test her as yet, she shows lots of promise.
Angel received two NAVHDA Natural Ability Prize II awards. Angel is our little girl. She is extremely affectionate, like her mother, and has a lot of drive in the field. She likes to run fairly big for a Small Munsterlander, but has learned to pace herself. She covers the field very nicely and has all of the characteristics moonsters are known for, good nose, strong pointing and retrieving instincts, is an excellant tracker, uses the wind to her (our) advantage, and loves water. She is vocal when on furred game. She has a very good tail that is always carried high. Angel is 20 inches and 36 pounds. She has a very sleek, dense and flat-lying coat. Her hip dysplasia certification was rated good by OFA.
The pups were all sold under a contract and we required that the pups be tested in the NAVHDA Natural Ability test prior to 16 months of age. We want our pups to go to homes that will be able to test the pups and have them live with their family. The puppies now live in Oregon, Montana, California, South Dakota, Michigan, Ohio and Maryland. Our pups are registered with the Small Munsterlander Club of North America, Inc. and NAVHDA. It looks like three or four of the pups will be tested this fall in NAVHDA Natural Ability tests. The pups will be six months old. One of the pups, Abby, is shown pointing at four months on the Versatile Puppies page.
-- Amos --
Amos received a NA Prize III, he received a Prize III in the NAVHDA Utility test on his first attempt and followed up with a UT Prize II with 187 points. This was a good performance and he shows a lot of ability and desire. Amos is a beautiful white and brown-plated dog. He has very nice ears, tail and furnishings. His hair is a little longer than Angels, dense, sleek and flat-lying. He is 21 and 1/2 inches and weighs approximately 52 pounds. He hunts a little slower and closer than Angel, but with equal style.
Angel was line bred Sengpiel. The fine breeding program conducted by Ned Sengpiel and June Knowlton have produced outstanding dogs. Fritz was the first Prize I Utility Small Munsterlander Pointer in North America. There are now seven other Small Munsterlanders that have earned this prize. Of the eight, five are from the Sengpiel-Knowlton line.

Catja vom Brunnenweg is the Great Grand Dam of Amos. Fero vom Lohebeeke is in both Angel's and Amos' pedigree. The Sengpiel-Knowlton line was founded on these three great dogs. The Sengpiel-Knowlton line has produced five of the seven Small Munsterlanders that have earned a Utility Prize I. They are known for their excellent conformation. All of us that have dogs with this outstanding genotype owe a great deal of thanks to Ned and June for their time, investment and good breeding judgement. And special thanks to Fritz, Fero and Catja that made it all possible.
Our pups are whelped in our house and receive much daily attention and human interaction. Our three children help see to that chore. We place our pups between 8 and 10 weeks. We expect the pups will live in the house with the family. If your family lives in the kennel, then so too may your dog. We provide a puppy book that includes pedigrees, pictures, and information on the parents and some of the dogs in the pedigree. Our litters are registered registered with the Small Munsterlander Club of North America, Inc. and NAVHDA at no cost to you. We will provide you with registration papers upon receipt from the registries. You will receive instructions on care, feeding and follow-up veterinarian care and shots. Our pups are sold under a contract that requires Natural Ability testing. You will be expected to test your puppy in a NAVHDA Natural Ability test before it is 16 months of age. A significant amount of training is not necessary, however, you will have to dedicate time to giving the puppy exposure to birds in the field, tracking pheasants, and it will have to have exposure to water and be comfortable swimming. All fun things for you and your dog and a wonderful thing to increase the bond between you and your new companion. It is not fair to the individual dog, breeder or the breed to not test these dogs, or to just show up without proper exposure of the puppy. If at any time during the dog's life that you are unable to keep the dog, we ask for the first right of refusal to take the dog back.

Our goal is to produce high quality dogs for the foot hunter. We are striving to produce world class Small Munsterlander Pointers that will excel in the woods, fields and water, and that will be faithful companions in the home. We strongly support NAVHDA and its testing programs, as well as the Small Munsterlander Pointer Club of North America, Inc. and its Code of Ethics. We will only breed our dogs when we feel we can produce dogs that will benefit the hunter/companion and the breed. To be eligible for breeding, our dogs have achieved a qualifying score in a NAVHDA Natural Ability or higher test, hips have been certified as good or better by the OFA, and the breeding has been approved by the Breed Council of the Small Munsterlander Pointer Club of North America, Inc. Purchasing a puppy or adult dog is a big decision and a big commitment. You need to be sure of your decision and you have every right to expect these high standards from your breeder. Ask lots of questions, be sure of your decision. If you have selected a Small Munsterlander Pointer as your next dog, you have already made a significant choice. Follow through with one of several reputable breeders that will provide you with a good class dog from tested lineage. However, please be aware that relatively few litters are whelped each year. It is not uncommon for people to wait for over a year for their very special moonster. Good Hunting.
