Valerie Epperson
Valerie is a native of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She is the youngest of seven children. Valerie is an honor graduate from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a minor in Accounting. She began her FAA career in 1984 at Little Rock Air Traffic Control Tower in Little Rock, Arkansas, as a co-op student. In 1985, she was hired permanently at Little Rock Flight Service. In 1991, she transferred to Fort Worth Flight Service. Valerie has held several positions during her tenure at Fort Worth Flight Service including; operations supervisor, training specialist, and enroute flight advisory specialist. Currently, Valerie is a Support Specialist at Fort Worth Flight Service. She has been an EEO counselor since 1998. In November of 2003, she ended a six month detail in the Southwest Region Civil Rights Office
Valerie has been a member of the National Black Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees since 1986. She is the past president of the Arkansas Chapter. She served as secretary of the DFW/ABQ/ELP chapter. Currently, she is the secretary of the AC/SW Region.
Valerie is a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas. She is a divorced mother, with one son, Jaray. He is thirteen years old. Jaray loves both football and basketball.
