Oh, woe is me. Most of us have the kitty flu -- thanks to those Creole ladies who came visiting!! Let's see, me, Nikita, Tita, Amelie and Melody are sick and feeling so blue -- we just want JJ to hold us all of the time.

The Creole girls are feeling better. Antoinette (Nettie) was really sick. JJ had to give her nose drops and take her in a steamy bathroom! Beignet has been sneezing but we don't know if she is going to get any sicker or not.

The one good thing about being sick, though, is STAYING HOME -- no adoption fairs, hooray. Now if we could just con JJ into staying home from work to take care of us... hmmm. I don't mind all of the sneezing so much, but poor little Tital is coughing and sometimes that makes her throw up. Then Max goes and eats -- oh, that is too disgusting, you don't want to know -- you KNOW how boys are!!

I think I will go back to my kitty condo and rest. Just wanted the world to know we are still alive and kicking -- and looking for Forever Homes!

Oregano

Hey everyone and Happy Thanksgiving. We (the cats that live at JJ's House) sure do have a lot to be thankful for: warm beds, lots of food, Fancy Feast and Friskies canned :-) yummy, treats and loads of love from JJ and all of her friends.

The new kitties have been named. Antoinette is the muted torti and Beignet is the dark tortoiseshell. We have met them though Beignet mostly hides under the bureau and growls. Antoinette is pretty sweet but she doesn't feel so good right now. She is sneezing a lot. JJ is taking her and Beignet to Dr. Pete (Pete Gilyard, Clemmons Veterinary Clinic) in the morning. We hope she gets to feeling better because we want to show her how rowdy we can play!

We got a new toy!!! A lady that works with JJ, C-, gave us a scratcher that has a ball in it and we go round-and-round-and-round-and-round trying to catch it!! We like it so much that JJ has to put it up at night because it is really noisy when we roll the ball. We haven't been able to get the ball out yet but we sure are trying.
JJ is going to Aunt M-'s for Thanksgiving. There she will see her cousins and travelling partners, JM and MM. They had so much fun in Costa Rica -- we sure missed JJ but we were glad they had fun!!

I hope JJ brings us home some turkey! She has been cooking other good smelling stuff but she keeps hiding it away from us. I wonder why? We would only eat a little bit. We would be sure to leave some for her to take to Aunt M-'s house.

Guess what? JJ and M are back!!! They got back last night and we had been sleeping. It took us about 15 minutes to get waked up but then we just mobbed JJ. M went home to see his dog buddies -- guess there's no accounting for taste! We hear he has some of the superior species (i.e. cats) but we haven't met them. We hear that they are BLACK -- as if we don't have enough of those in our lives already. (O.K. Max, Jinx and Spooky, I was just kidding!!)

Anyway, last night, me, Spooky, Max and Amelie all got in the bed with JJ and when she turned out the light, she said she could not sleep for all of the loud purring!! Then, this morning EVERYBODY got in on the act, jumping around and waking her up. Can you imagine, she slept till 10:00!! Even is she WAS up till 3:00 am, I think that is a little excessive. Uh, well, I know we sleep more than that, but sleeping is one of our jobs. Her job is to take care of us -- whee!!

There is something in the back room. Or somethings. JJ won't let us in there. We keep smelling under the door and it smells like cats but we aren't sure. Surely she did not bring home any of those Creole cats!?!!? Well, knowing her, she did. I wonder what they look like? I wonder when we'll get to meet them. I hope that they know that I am the boss of the house (except when Jinx is beating me up or Spooky or Lucky is around).

We're helping JJ with laundry. It is very important for us to sniff everything before she puts it in the washer, just in case. Who knows what she might put in the washer if we didn't check it out first? So, off to work.

Melody

Well, we're all a little sad that JJ is leaving for a week but Ms. D is coming to stay with us so we will be fine. We hope JJ and M- are able to help a lot of animals in Louisiana. There are still so many problems there.

I have a tip for all cats out there (and probably dogs but I think they are too goofy to care) -- DO NOT under any circumstances give your person kisses after they have been eating onions!! Yuck-a-rooney! Whew! Some of the stuff they eat just makes me want to gag. Tita and her sisters and Max will eat more human food than me because they lived on their own at one time and had to eat whatever they could get. They will eat stuff I would not even touch!

We have been playing a lot. We got behind the TV set and unplugged all of the cords so that JJ had to pull out the entertainment center to fix them. Under there, WOW, more missing mice and balls and all kinds of stuff. We hadn't seen it in so long it seemed new. If it seems like I talk about playing a lot, I do. From what I understand that is my job until I get about 2 years old. Then I am supposed to lay around and eat and be a lap cat -- or, some cats are supposed to be aloof and snobby -- not me, hey, hey -- I'm a lover not a fighter.

One day I will give another kit a chance to write -- but they say I speak for them all. Hasta la vista!

Oregano

We haven't posted in a few days because we've been really busy. On Monday we got those furry little mice -- we had so much fun with them and then they disappeared!! So we forgot about them. Then, tonight, JJ found all of them under the bookshelf -- wow, good times!!

JJ is going with M- down to Louisiana to help all of the animals that got hurt in the hurricane. They will be gone a whole week -- and sleeping in tents!! I don't know WHAT I would do if I had to live outside like that -- to scary to think about. We always get a petsitter/housesitter -- I hope it is someone fun!! (Like our friend, Debi -- she loves to play with us.)

JJ says she is not bringing any cats back with her. She says we are too many now. But, I'll believe it when I see it. If we could get homes, that would make room for her to help more kittens. But they have to be good homes. JJ won't let us go somewhere that we might not be well taken care of. She says she has rescued us once and doesn't want it to happen again!!
