This area, situated at the eastern end of Birdseye Street, provides the primary access to the Housatonic River for people who want to launch a boat from a trailer (after purchasing a town launching sticker).  The local Coast Guard Auxilliary is also located on this side as well a small concession stand.

The Birdseye Dock is located across from Stratford's water treatment plant.  A greenway has been proposed for the river front to extend from Birdseye Dock south to Short Beach.  This beautiful area attracts many species of shorebirds, marsh birds, birds attracted to cedars and junipers.  Monk parakeets also are residents.
