The National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) "is the leading professional association for legal assistants, providing continuing education and professional certification programs for paralegals. Incorporated in 1975, NALA is an integral part of the legal community, working to improve the quality and effectiveness of the delivery of legal services."
The National Paralegal Association "is an international organization offering benefits and services to individuals, law firms, corporate legal departments, independent paralegals, paralegal training schools and colleges as well as those offering services or products to those involved in the paralegal profession."
The National Federation of Paralegal Associations provides a search map for member associations on its Internet Information Center.
American Association for Paralegal Education - AAfPE - has an active Internet Discussion List, of interest primarily to educators.
The ABA has a Standing Committee on Legal Assistants to "help make quality legal services more accessible and affordable, primarily by fostering the increasingly effective integration of legal assistants-or paralegals-into the legal services delivery team."
