Just for today...

It's 3:20... my 3pm appointment hasn't showed up. Looks like today is the day for no shows. It's odd. Mentally I've already left this job. It's really sad what is going on here. The state and county budget cuts are really hurting the whole campus. This department in particular just feels like the heart and soul is leaving. I'm glad that I decided to leave when i did. They are cutting so many part timer's hours. There is no guarantee that the full-time staff will even have a job next year. They may be transferred to other departments and such. Working here for 6 years... this place feels like home. I've seen it grow into a huge programs and tons of services that we provide. Breaks my heart to see it slowly but surely go to hell. Our director who has her faults did work very very hard to make our department what it is today. I can't imagine what it must be like for her to watch her best employee's who have been here for years leave one by one. It's time for me to jump off the sinking ship. Friday will be my last day. I had better bring a box of kleenex with me. I think i'm going to be crying a lot. I grew up here. I developed friendships here. It will be hard to leave. I hope for the sake of the students that we provide services to that we will be able to continue to assist them.
