Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! I always enjoy spending the holiday's with my family. Cooing at the babies and teasing the little cousins, not to mention the good food. Speaking of holiday food, I suppose I can say that I'm pretty lucky that my family even does the whole turkey dinner thing. Most 1st generation korean immigrant families I know don't really like turkey and don't want to bother. Luckily my parents are pretty americanized so we do the whole shebang. Usually my mother and I are responsible for baking the turkey and stuffing. This year however "everyone" (i wasn't in on this) decided they didn't want turkey and wanted to make prime rib instead. They still needed the token turkey so they ordered a pre-cooked turkey dinner from the supermarket. My aunt (who makes GREAT korean food, but miserable anything else) was going to do the Prime Rib. At this point I'm very nervous, and painful memories of the Christmas we had Prime Rib that was perfectly cooked by my mother came rushing back. They couldn't take the pink meat and were microwaving the prime rib so it would be cooked all the way through. Not to mention the one uncle who insisted on having Kimchee with his steak >.< Well, needless to say, the prime rib was brown all the way through and I wouldn't recommend buying a pre-cooked turkey dinner from Albertson's. It was an enjoyable day spent with family nonetheless. Baby Issac was even more cute than usual, and the kids were, miracle of miracles behaving themselves and not fighting. :o) My cousin Trisha and I are going to make Christmas dinner this year. I'm too afraid to leave things to chance. The menu is roast beef and ham. Wish me luck!
