CLINICIAN BIOGRAPHY
James W. Sturges received his PhD
in Clinical Psychology in 1994 from The University of Alabama, with a
specialization in clinical child psychology. He particularly enjoys helping
people achieve success and happiness. He has 16 peer-reviewed journal articles
and book chapters, and over fifty conference presentations, invited addresses,
and newsletter articles, on topics such as children’s disorders and
health-related issues. He is a tenured Associate Professor at

PRACTICE HIGHLIGHTS
Dr. Sturges offers caring individual and family therapy for emotional, behavioral, and relationship issues. He has training and supervised experience working with a variety of clients with grief and chronic pain, families raising children with emotional, behavioral, attentional, developmental, and learning difficulties, and couples with relationship issues or sexual dysfunction. Previously a faculty member and psychologist in the psychiatry department of a teaching hospital, he has successfully treated clients with depression, phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder, and a variety of other conditions.
