[Skiing can have some interesting distractions,
especially when there is no snow]

"Law-enforcement officers and other volunteers herd cattle away from Interstate 70 at Avon [Christie Lodge seen at left - near Beaver Creek/Vail] Tuesday, after a truck carrying the cattle overturned, according to the Colorado State Patrol. The driver, Charles Nichols, 51, was uninjured in the accident. The accident occurred as he swerved to avoid a Suburban driven by Alfred Ainsworth, 74, of Vail, who received minor injuries. Eight of the 75 cattle on board died; the rest were moved to Berry Creek Equestrian Center, where they will remain until they can complete their journey to Brush. The accident backed up traffic for miles [and several hours] on I-70, as well as on nearby U.S. Highway 6."
