How Old Are You ?

Many people have asked me throughout my life how old I am.  Let me answer you this way:
  • I am but a youth for I have far to go and much to learn.
  • I am at my prime for I feel confident and proud of what I can be.
  • I am a senior for I have been there and can pass on wisdom.
  • I am no more for I have left the past behind.
  • But most important, I am not of this world.  So to measure my time in earthly terms is without real meaning.  I come from the Creator that keeps my calendar, sets my schedule, provides my every need, and asks only for love in return.  For Him I have traveled afar and have returned to re-experience that favorite thing, that favorite place, to learn more about that favorite thing, and to add His love to the world.
  • Yes, I am as old as you.  Yes, I am finally old enough.  Yes, I am . . .  -- hmmm . . .  -- well I think I am . . .   -- What were we talking about ?

Old Friends are the Best Friends

Three genealogists, 92, 94, and 96 years old, respectively, all lived together.  One day the oldest drew a bath. She put one foot in the water, paused, then called downstairs to her friends, "Am I getting into the tub or out of the tub?"

The 94-year-old started up the stairs to help, then paused and called back downstairs, "Was I going up or coming down?"

The youngest, who was sitting at the kitchen table having tea, said, "I guess I'll have to help them.  I hope I never get that forgetful!" and knocked on wood.  She got up, then paused and called, "I'll come up as soon as I see who's at the door!"

Old folks are worth a fortune with silver in their hair, gold in their teeth, precious stones in their kidneys, lead in their feet, and gas in their stomach.

The preacher came to call on me the other day.   He said that at my age I should be thinking about the hereafter.  I told him, Oh, I do all the time.  No matter where I am in the house, in the store, or in the street, I ask myself, "What am I here after ?"

Five good gentlemen visit with me each day.   As soon as I wake up, Will Power helps me out of bed.  Then I go to see John.   As I begin to move Charlie Horse comes along, and when he leaves Arthur Ritis shows up.  At the end of the day I go to bed with the help of Ben Gay.
